How Emotional Freedom Tapping (EFT) Can Help Heal Your Mental and Physical State
I recently participated in Qigong training. The instructor discussed three different levels of existence/creation that come from ancient China dating back at least 4000 years. These levels include the Spiritual Body, referred to as Shen, Energetic, referred to as Qi and the Physical, referred to as Jing. Going into his teachings, he explained that whatever we create in the Shen (spiritual body) affects the Qi (energetic) which then creates our Jing (physical). This idea has been brought to my attention through various classes and trainings throughout the years in different terms.
“Our thoughts create a chemical and physical reaction in our bodies.”
One class in particular explained it this way: Our thoughts create a chemical and physical reaction in our bodies. First, we create our health or illness emotionally and then it manifests itself later physically. Our thoughts have certain vibrations and chemicals associated with them. These vibrations and chemicals are released into the body because of our thoughts and can be positive or negative, depending on what we create. Our cells have receptors for the different kinds of chemicals we release into the body via our thoughts. When the cells go to reproduce they create more receptors for whatever chemicals they have been receiving. The cell then begins asking for more of this chemical. For every person, the awareness of what our bodies are asking for is very different. We may not realize what we are providing our cells. We can become addicted to whatever vibrations and chemicals we have been feeding our bodies. So much so that the cells are literally craving the chemical caused by the emotion or feeling (anger, drama, sadness, happiness, whatever it may be) that we feed it the most. This knowledge brought new meaning to me for the scripture that says “as a man thinketh so is he”.
EFT
I have been using EFT and many forms of tapping to break this cycle of addiction for my clients that our bodies tend to get stuck in. You see, even if the conscious mind wants to change a behavior, we are up against all we have already created energetically within our own bodies. The design is literally programmed into our cells through our previous thought patterns.
“The subconscious mind has about 50 to 70,000 thoughts per day.
I am so excited that we have access to the tools that can reprogram our cells and create true change. We start creating before we are born and are constantly doing so throughout our lives. When we are children between birth and about age 12, our brains are in the “Theta State”, which basically means they are perfect for mind programming. We absorb all of the experiences that happen to us in our childhood and create beliefs about ourselves, others, the world, what is safe and what is not, etc. As children, these beliefs serve a specific purpose, however, when we become adults, they may not serve us as well as they used to. In fact, they may keep us from accomplishing some of our deepest desires and living up to our full potential. What we decide as children becomes our subconscious mind. The reason we have a subconscious mind is to keep us safe. For example, if you have decided as a child that walking across the street is very dangerous, your subconscious mind will continue to sabotage your efforts to cross the street until you break that outdated pattern of thinking. The subconscious mind has about 50 to 70,000 thoughts per day. Thank goodness there are easier ways to change an old pattern than shier willpower! We have to pull forth one thought at a time and challenge it. Doing so can be so fun and exciting!
By creating different thought patterns and disrupting the old energetic patterns of our bodies, we become ready to energetically create what we as adults would like to have in our lives. We can watch it manifest into our physical lives. We are systematically taught to be unattached to how it shows up, which can be another challenge to work through, but we can see the results if we are looking for it. Creation is such an exhilarating process! When we have erased all the thoughts, energies, and emotions from our past that we do not want to see in our lives anymore, we can start using our imaginative powers to create Shen energy (spiritually) within us that is what we desire it to be.
What is stopping you from creating and living your best life? What have you decided you need to get rid of from your past patterns in order to “be safe” in your present? Are there beliefs you created as a child that need to be reinvented? One of my greatest joys is helping others begin the process of Awakening to their subconscious programming. I would love to help you start your process of changing your patterns and creating new ones that make you happier!
